My boyfriend and I went on a small dumpling crawl and out of the 3 that we tried this way, we found the their siu mai was the best. It was full of flavor and juicy. It is cash only so we did have to get some and come back. We also got their shrimp was also highly rated. The pineapple buns there are just okay, nothing too special.

You're not paying for customer service but you will get a deal on legit dim sum. Been coming here for over a decade. Love their taro dumplings, glutinous rice balls, and sweet mochi patties filled with either egg or black bean paste. . Rice porridge is tasty too!

One of the go to places for baked pork buns, other baked Chinese breadbasket food - always busy so that's the sign...

After having lived in the inner Richmond for over half a year, this is still our go to spot for dim sum! They always get their siu mai just right and the har gow/chives har gow so delicious! We also enjoy the baos, chicken skewer, Chinese sausage bun, and sweets. Service is great and they'll always get you through the line quickly, just what we need at a takeout spot! They also reopened their dine in option for those who prefer that, there are a few tables inside, but there is no table service!

Pretty decent well known bakery in the area. Their dim sums are on point. As a personal opinion, there were a bit too much rice on the lotus leaf wrap compared to other places. They're $5 a piece. Other smaller dim sum items were about $4 for 3 which is I believe on the pricier side for these places, but inflation I understand. All in all I would come back for the smaller dim sum pieces next time. Line up were out the door but the service was constant and a good constant flow. Would come back to try more.

Damn the steamed and baked buns were GOOD and affordable! The baked bun had a good ratio of filling to bread, the steamed we wish was a bit closer to that ratio but the flavor was incredible. I got a peanut mochi which was tasty but I wish it was a peanut butter filling rather than a powdered peanut butter filling. Definitely worth a try!

Another one of those, can't believe I didn't review it places. My friend was kind enough to point me here whenever I had errands in the neighborhood to get her two favorites: the large chicken bun and the pork and vegetable bun. This take-and-go dim sum shop is similar to stores that you would find along Stockton St. or Jackson St. in Chinatown but, must admit, the quality is more consistent here. I found a parking space about a block away just before noon and was going to pick up a few items before lunch but decided to eat first given the line (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=2FQkSmXVRmjOcCgHUQ1UkQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). I returned about an hour later and, of course, the line was longer (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=yeN2ZdJ7vPtEuDcCeU24FQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). There were two ladies manning the counter so the late was minimal, 10-12 minutes. When I reached the counter, I knew what I wanted and quickly ordered. I asked for a bag for $0.25 since I was carrying another bag with my lunch leftovers. When I got home after work, I tried one of the three shrimp gow (ha gow to most) (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=wDCL89D7iUWH8_e2cBMToA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q); the skin was medium thick and the filling was plump with a nice texture, soft with a slight crunch and not overly dry. Temper your expectations as these are not restaurant quality dim sum, built more for reheating or to be eaten right away. I left mine in the steamer too long in reheating and the skin was on the mushy side. My other purchase was a red bean paste banana cake (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=nWCkUwBeJvdoyt2mmvna8A&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) which I saved for breakfast the next morning. I really enjoyed this as the moistness and the generous red bean paste amount. I should have bought two. The lady who took my order smiled throughout our exchange and was especially appreciative when I left her a gratuity. I used to work around the corner at a bank so I am familiar with this neighborhood. I will always remember the Firehouse BBQ on the corner as well as the few remaining staples on this block, Green Apple Bookstore and Schubert's Bakery. I believe the corner Chinese deli is their sister business offering roasties (BBQ pork, roast duck, roast pork, and soy sauce chicken). They had a line too but slightly shorter than here. Will be returning periodically especially when in the area. You know I'll be going home with more than one banana cake next time.
